Important Information
Please Read Before Ordering
My process is all manual; I do not have any fancy machines or gadgets to do the work for me. This means that my time is precious because each aspect of fiber processing is labor intensive due to the unique nature of an animal fleece.
Due to the unique needs of each fleece I have made my included services very specific which means that you play an important role in how well your yarn spins out.
-
I only accept orders of 24oz at a time. This might not sound like much but in handspun fiber terms an average skein is around 4oz so it is reasonable to expect that you will see between 2 to 4 double-ply skeins produced from your 24oz order.
-
I do not skirt your fleece, you will need to spend adequate time removing noticeable pieces of vegetable matter and organic debris from your fiber prior to drop off/delivery.
-
Your fiber must be dropped off and picked up by you on pre-scheduled dates.
-
Average turn-around time for your order will be 9 weeks.
-
All orders must be pre-paid through this website.

No refunds will be provided for this service due to the nature of the manual work involved with processing your fiber.

Services Included with Your Order
Tumbling
I use a large Fancy Kitty tumbler to loosen and eliminate vegetable matter and other small contaminants from your fiber. This service affords an efficient way to remove extra organic matter before your fiber takes a warm dunk!
Washing
I prefer to wash all fiber as part of my comprehensive manual service, washing often removes dirt and debris unseen to the naked eye. I use Kookaburra plant-based wool wash to enhance the finished feeling of your fiber and produce a more workable cloud for spinning.
Spinning
I personally handspin all yarn with attention to detail and my own creative flare. Please do keep in mind that handspinning is not equal to mill spinning; your final product will have lovely imperfections that afford character and charm to your finished craft works. Please be sure to review my gallery page for visual examples of my handspun yarn to ensure we are well suited to work together for your desired yarn product.
Wool Scouring
Scouring is reserved for wool processing due to the natural occurrence of lanolin. Scouring is a delicate process and tailored to each unique fleece with diligence and care. This step will be included with raw wool processing services.
Carding
Picking, hand carding, combing, and drum carding, are essential in developing a beautiful finished yarn. I use the aforementioned tools at my discretion to maximize the natural luxury of your fiber. I am also able to add in beautiful merino and angelina colors to create a unique yarn for you. Color selections are offered in the form below.
Fiber Delivery and Yarn Pickup
